The following are some of the Ranger sponsored activites in the Park. Some special programs may be added to these, so be sure to get an updated list from the Visitor Center when you arrive.

Fridays
7:00pm
- Evening Slide Presentation In the amphitheater at Jumbo Rocks Campground. Dress for cool desert evenings.
Saturdays
10:00am & 1:00pm
- Keys Ranch Tour (2 hours, ½ mile) Because of the sensitive nature of this cultural resource, tours are limited to 20 persons. To find the ranch, enter the Hidden Valley Campground, keep to the right, turn left at the T-intersection and follow the road to the gate. Your guide will meet you there. (easy)
2:00pm - Small Wonders (45 minutes) Look closely at rock crystals, bird feathers, even snake scales, and discover the beauty that lies hidden in small natural objects. Meet at the Jumbo Rocks Campground Amphitheater.
Saturday Evening Programs
7:00pm
- Rangers and volunteers offer a variety of slide presentations illustrating Joshua Tree's natural resources and colorful history at the Black Rock Nature Center, Jumbo Rocks Campground Amphitheater, and the Cottonwood Campground Amphitheater. Dress for cool desert evenings
Sunday - October 20 & 27
8:00am
- Rise & Shine (1 hour) Stop by Cottonwood Amphitheater with your mug for a cup of coffee and some information about the park.
8:00am - Climbers' Wake Up (1 hour) A ranger or volunteer will provide coffee, tea, and hot chocolate along with route orientation, safety tips, and information about climbing issues. Bring your own mug to the campfire circle (near site #4) in the Hidden Valley Campground.
10:00am - Desert Survival (1 hours, ½ mile) Learn what to take on a hike and what to do if you get lost. Meet at Cottonwood Visitor Center. (easy)
10:00am & 1:00pm - Keys Ranch Tour(2 hours, ½ mile) Because of the sensitive nature of this cultural resource, tours are limited to 20 persons. 10:30am - Secret Life of Plants (1 hour, 1 mile) Discover the beauty of desert wildflowers. Meet at the Live Oak picnic area, located east of Jumbo Rocks Campground.

An assistive listening system is available for use during ranger-led programs. Contact the Oasis Visitor Center to request this service.
